‘Joost de Lange Band’

The Joost de Lange Band is a power trio from Antwerp with Ramses Donvil on the drums, Mitchell Goor on the bass guitar and Joost de Lange vocals/guitar. They play a sublime combination of Rock, Blues and Grunge with tight drums, thundering bass, rousing guitar solos and catchy choruses with a timeless sound.

This Power Trio runs like a train and has been touring at home and abroad for years. Every time they leave behind all clubs, halls and festivals steaming and they know to hit guitar lovers time and time again. During their live shows, they play their own work and formidable renditions of some songs of their heroes such as Rory Gallagher or Jimi Hendrix. With this they know how to get the public in an irresistible way in higher spheres and it is immediately clear where these guys can be placed musically.

 

Discography

In March 2019 the studio album Lonesome Wolf was released, with on it 11 own songs written by Joost. Characteristic is the energetic sound with the necessary power and influences from blues, rock, grunge, pop and funk and the constantly immersive guitar solos. The many reviews were all outstanding and many radio stations gave the album airplay.

Because many fans asked for a live album there was the release of the album Live in Antwerp in March 2017. This live registration of a gig took place in Antwerp and contains new work as well as existing songs and also some covers. The album provided excellent reviews and is still very popular with the fans .

The 4th album Magic Crow was released September 2014. This album received rave reviews for example in Blues Magazine and Roots Time Magazine. Several radio stations promoted the music with airplay. In a completely appropriate style a second video clip was made with the song 'The Night Train'.

In 2013, the album Crazy Times was recorded. Also a cool videoclip was made with the track ‘My Way’. The album got an excellent review in the British magazine Blues Matters. Also Blues Magazine and Rootstime wrote enthusiastically about it.

The album Change It was released in 2011. With this album Joost started his own band 'Joost de Lange Rock/Blues Experience'. It was for him also the start as a singer/ guitarist. Before he played mostly instrumental and worked together with other singers. The album was highly appreciated by the fans

In 2010 Joost de Lange recorded his first album Outlaw. This album includes only instrumental tracks, almost all written by Joost for his graduation at the Jazz Studio in Antwerp. Listening to Outlaw you can hear many different influences and styles of guitarists like Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, etc. The Dutch Music Magazine 'OOR' wrote a raving review about it.

Joost

Joost de Lange (1983, Middelburg) started playing the guitar around the age of 11. Until he was around 18 years old, he was influenced by Blues and Blues/Rock music from various Artists like: John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones etc. Later on his inspiration came from hard-rockbands like: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani etc. He started playing in various bands since he was around 16 years old. Joost finished his studies as luther and later on he graduated from the Jazz Studio in Antwerp. Over the years he has gained a vast variety of experience from playing with various bands like: Jazz, Blues, Rock and Metal. Nowadays he plays a lot of shows with the Joost de Lange Band at large and small venues, national and international.

Mitchell

 

woodgrain 8Mitchell Goor (1987, Borsbeek) started playing the bass guitar when he was 15 years old. It soon became clear that also the guitar, the piano and electronic music had his interest; he spent a lot of time on making music.

At the SAE Institute in Brussels, where he studied audio engineering, Mitchell came in touch with the blues and he heard the music of Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Led Zeppelin. For his own bass lines especially the old Motown- and Funk/Soul-records are an important source of inspiration.

Ramses

Ramses Donvil (1985, Brasschaat) started playing drums as an eleven year old boy. He grew up with music from Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead and soon he played in his first band. Ramses studied jazz-drums at the Antwerp Jazz Studio, followed by the Conservatory of Antwerp, where he has graduated. During this time he also followed guitar- and piano-lessons with various teachers.
